Jamie Oliver’s Ted Talk Review

Even though most videos based around food and what goes into it are created for an American audience, it does affect the rest of the world greatly. The U.S. is the most powerful country in the world, many developing countries will follow it’s footsteps because they think it will bring their country into fruition. This is not the case. And because of this undeniable fact, we have to watch our diet all around the world. But that is not the point of Jamie Oliver’s Ted Talk. He is an activist, and his main point is to bring food education into schools. To teach children about food. In the documentary Fed Up, we see how corporations “brainwash” children into buying and craving their products from a very young age. Another point was obesity and how 1/3! Yeah you heard me, 1/3 of the U.S. population is obese. He focused on how death in Americans was mainly due to diet related causes. He is using the facts to make his point, and is succeeding in doing so, we need to teach children about food, hence why I am writing this to further advocate his point.

Question #3 Can You Jump The Same River Twice?

The answer to this question is Yes and No.

For one the river has changed since you last jumped in it, it’s a different ecosystem, there are different fish living in the river now,  it’s just different. Scientifically you could argue that there are completely different atoms and minerals in the lake than before or the particles switched places, or matured, there are so many arguments on this topic that it is very difficult to name them all. If you wanted to look at it very blandly, you could just say: “That’s the same lake I jumped in because:

1. It has the same name and history since the last time I have swam/jumped in.

2. And it is the same lake, it hasn’t changed it’s appearance since last time either.”

What’s your standpoint on the topic?
